Bio
Dr. William Koch is a clinical and forensic psychologist whose primary emphasis is forensic assessment of psychological injuries. He consults on personal injury matters arising from accidents; sexual assault and harassment; workplace disability claims; family issues, and professional malpractice matters. Dr. Koch has an extensive background in research, publications, presentations and teaching. He has an interest and expertise in the treatment of MVA-related PTSD and driving fear and avoidance, with many relevant publications.
Dr. Koch is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UBC as well as Adjunct Professor of Psychology at both UBC and Simon Fraser University, where he has taught graduate level forensic assessment courses. He has directed one of the most prominent psychology internship programs in Canada at UBC Hospital. Dr. Koch has been given the Canadian Psychological Association’s Award for Distinguished Contributions in Education and Training, as well as the British Columbia Psychological Association’s Park O. Davidson Award for contributions to the profession of psychology. He has held a number of board and administrative positions in professional psychology at both the provincial and national level, and is in good standing with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (CPBC #858).
Dr. Koch has a history of long involvement in community track and field. He authored the current code of conduct for BC Athletics officials, and serves many weekends during the track and field season as a starter throughout British Columbia.

He has published over 40 articles and book chapters, many conference presentations, and taught a number of training workshops in forensic psychology.
