Dr. Marilyn Kwong is a Clinical Psychologist (Licensed) licensed with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) and a member of the British Columbia Psychological Association. She earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Simon Fraser University. Her pre-doctoral internship was completed at Back in Motion Rehab, BC and Richmond Hospital, BC.

Over the past 20 years, Dr. Kwong has worked across a range of clinical and rehabilitation settings, specializing in psychological assessment services for injured workers and people with disabilities. During this time, she also provided supervision in comprehensive psychological assessment to graduate students.

Dr. Kwong conducts assessments that focus on workers’ claims for psychological injuries as well as independent medical evaluations and assessments for civil litigation, with particular expertise in psychological injuries arising from sexual assault and historical abuse. Separately, she maintains a therapy practice for adult individuals and couples. Her therapeutic orientation is grounded in attachment theory and centres on evidence-based, emotionally focused approaches. This relational and emotion-focused foundation distinguishes her clinical work and enriches both her therapeutic and assessment practice, particularly in cases involving interpersonal trauma. She brings a depth of clinical understanding to her evaluations, informed by her extensive therapeutic background and her commitment to staying current with the evolving research on the psychological sequelae of traumatic and adverse events.
