Bio

Dr. Cohen is a Neuropsychologist with a private practice in Vancouver, BC. Prior to graduating with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Simon Fraser University in 1997, he completed graduate training in adult and pediatric neuropsychology, family and individual psychotherapy, an internship at Chedoke-McMaster Hospitals in pediatric neuropsychology and family therapy, and an extensive practicum in neuropsychological and psychological assessment at Riverview Psychiatric Hospital.

After several years with the Hamber House day program and school for youth with severe psychiatric disorders in Vancouver, and a locum placement as a neuropsychologist at Vancouver General Hospital in both adult and youth neuropsychology, Dr. Cohen began a full-time private practice in Neuropsychology and Psychotherapy. He is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (CPBC #1281).

Dr. Cohen has conducted a wide range of neuropsychological and psychological assessments as an independent examiner and for rehabilitation purposes for insurance companies, legal counsels, and individuals. He has testified numerous times in court and has been granted Expert Witness status in both the Supreme Court and Provincial (Family) Courts of BC. Dr. Cohen’s practice also provides psychoeducational and developmental assessment and support services for parents and educational institutions, including contract assessment services and supervision for the Conseil Scolaire Francophone de la Columbie Britannique (Francophone Education Authority), and for the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.

Dr. Cohen conducts seminars and talks on various topics such as developmental perspective on traumatic brain injury, learning disabilities, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder to medical legal conferences, school boards, sports teams, and graduate students in clinical psychology. Dr. Cohen has also worked as a Course Instructor for the Graduate Program at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Vancouver, and is currently providing practicum training and supervision to graduate students in doctoral programs in Clinical, Counselling, and Educational Psychology.
