Dr. Nuñez is a Psychiatrist with over 10 years of clinical experience and over 5 years of providing occupational psychiatric consultation. He attended medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and completed residency training in General Psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Nuñez then completed an additional year of training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Nuñez relocated to Vancouver in 2012 and has maintained his positions as department staff at St. Paul’s Hospital and as a Clinical Instructor for UBC Faculty of Medicine. He is the primary psychiatric consultant for St. Paul’s Cystic Fibrosis Clinic in the Pacific Lung Centre. Dr. Nuñez additionally provided outpatient addictions treatment for the underserved community in the downtown Eastside of Vancouver and previously conducted clinical research with British Columbia Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU).
Dr. Nuñez has provided Occupational Psychiatric Consultation for over 5 years in the form of independent assessments, review committee experience, file reviews, and expert opinion to various employers, industries, government agencies, insurance providers, and law firms located in Canada and abroad. He has additionally provided business consultation for healthcare startups and established companies, and has formed key partnerships with industry leaders to focus on service development in occupational mental health.
