Jodi Fischer has been a practicing occupational therapist for 29 years. She is Certified as a Life Care Planner (ICHCC) and Advanced Work Capacity Evaluator (RMA). She is well known as a highly skilled clinician who is able to handle the most complex of cases involving chronic pain, multiple orthopaedic injuries, brain injury, and mental health conditions.
Ms. Fischer has decades of experience in providing functional assessments to assist with determination of care needs and work disability related to motor vehicle accidents, family law, work-related injuries, medical malpractice and negligence claims. She understands the complexities of these claims and the importance of thoroughness and detail.
She has extensive court testimony experience with having testified over 75 times. She is a qualified expert witness to the Supreme Court of British Columbia in Functional and Work Capacity Evaluation, Cost of Future Care Evaluation, Job Site Analysis, and Occupational Therapy.
Along with Ms. Fischer’s clinical work, she is regularly requested to speak at conferences and educational events to health care and legal professionals. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Medicine (Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy). She developed and teaches the course on Life Care Planning in the Master of Occupational Therapy Program. Ms. Fischer has published in peer-reviewed journals on a variety of topics including: objective functional testing, determination of household service requirements, and life care planning methodologies.
